Different Types of Polyester Textured Yarn
Polyester textured yarn (also known as ATY, Air Covered Yarn, or Spun-like Yarn) is a type of synthetic polyester filament that is used in many fabrics. It is a versatile and lightweight material that can offer an entirely different look and feel to fabric applications. It can also provide a clean, quick-drying surface that is easy to maintain.
Textured Yarn is a synthetic polymer that has been modified to create a variety of characteristics, such as crimps or loops, coils, crinkles, and twists in the fiber. These features help to increase the texture, durability, and elasticity of fabric, as well as improve its appearance.
There are many different types of textured polyester yarns available in the market, each with its own unique characteristics and uses. Some of the most common are:
Drawn Textured Yarns
Polyester textured yarn is created by drawing multifilaments using draw machines. This process develops a soft crimp and bulk with cotton-like qualities. It can be used to replace cotton and cotton blend yarns in a wide range of fabrics.
Fully Drawn Yarns
Zhejiang Jinrui Fiber Technology Co., Ltd supplies fully drawn textured polyester yarns with varying deniers, luster, and colors to many countries around the world. These yarns are used in the weaving and knitting of polyester fabrics like home furnishing, curtains, and bed sheets.
We can supply these yarns in a wide range of deniers, lusters, and colors that can be combined with others to get the desired image effect. We can also add other specialty fibers like flame retardant, anti-microbial, and moisture management to these yarns if desired.
Full Dull & Semi Dull textured yarns
Our range of fully dull and semi-dull textured polyester yarns are manufactured with partially oriented multifilament (POY) containing lower luster than POY used for bright or trilobal bright yarns. They are used extensively in the production of apparel, upholstery, home furnishing, and a range of other fabrics.
These textured yarns are mainly made in a variety of deniers, lusters, and colors to meet the various requirements of the industry. We can also offer these textured yarns in a combination of denier, luster, and color as per the customer's specifications.
ATY / Spun-Like Yarns
There are a number of different types of textured polyester yarns that can be produced by spinning polyethylene terephthalate (PET) monofilaments into a multifilament form. The main purpose of textured polyester yarn is to produce a softer, more durable, and higher-performing fabric than other yarns.
The polymeric chains in a PET multifilament are twisted and drawn to create a textured yarn, which is characterized by a smooth and sheen-like surface that feels slick to the touch. The fiber is then dyed to match the sizing of the fabric.
The United States International Trade Commission and the Commerce Department have determined that there is a reasonable indication that imports of polyester textured yarn from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam are being sold in the United States at less than fair value, with preliminary antidumping duty determinations due on or about April 4, 2021. As a result, imports from those countries are currently subject to significant double- and triple-digit AD and countervailing duties. These duties will remain in place until the investigations of these yarns are completed.
Dope Dyed Polyester POY Yarn (DDB POY YARN)
Polyester Dyed Spinning Fiber is made of polyester chip (PET chip) and color master batch (color powder) by high temperature melting and high-speed spinning. After spinning, the colorant is evenly dispersed in the fiber, called spinning before dyeing or liquid coloring, and the fiber is Doped-dyed Fiber (Spun-dyed fiber).
