Advantages of Semi-Dull Polyester Filament Yarn
Polyester has long been a popular fiber for garments. Its main properties include moisture absorption and sweat releasing, anti-static, quick-drying, softness, luster, breathable, easy dyeing, etc. However, due to the rapid development of clothing industry and the daily improvement of living standard, consumers have higher demands for the quality of fabric. They also tend to prefer specialty fabrics with functional characteristics such as flame retardant, high strength, electrical conductivity, medical and environmental protection. This pushes the development of various specialty filaments for textile application.
In addition to the above advantages, Polyester Filament Yarn is characterized by its good tenacity and low shrinakge. It is also easily dyed with Dope Dyeing or Fiber Dyeing technology. These properties make it ideal for the production of garment products, which are comfortable to wear, resist stretch and wrinkle, easy to wash and care, efficient mildew-proof and water-resistant. The high network of the yarn saves doubling, twisting and sizing in the weaving process, which can greatly reduce the breakage rate and labor productivity. It can also increase the machine speed to improve production efficiency and product quality.
Our company has introduced advanced production equipment and a scientific management system, to ensure the best quality of our Semi-dull Polyester Filament Yarn. We can produce up to 200,000 tons per year, and our annual output will continue to grow as we invest in new production lines. We are also focusing on developing the export market to further expand our business and create more value for our customers.
The raw materials of our polyester filament yarn are Polyethylene terephthalatic acid (PTA) and Mono ethylene glycol (MEG), which are extruded at high speeds direct from chips into polyester FDY filament yarns. We use Barmag Wings FDY lines, which allow us to achieve the highest quality and speed. The yarns can be made in either Bright, Semi-dull or Full-Dull lustre. The yarns with bright lustre have trilobal shaped cross section while the ones with semi-dull and full-dull luster have flat cross sections when looked under microscope.
These yarns can be used with or without twisting and sizing depending on the subsequent processiong – like knitting, weaving, dyeing and printing. They are used to make fabrics for apparels, home textitles, denim and towels.
The yarns with a Semi-dull luster can be twisted and sized to make a Drawn Texturized Yarn (DTY) or a Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY). The yarns produced by texturising the partially oriented yarn introduce durable crimps, twists, interlaces and loops along the lengths of the yarn. This makes the yarns smoother and more slick, which helps them to be more abrasion resistant. It is a very important feature for yarns to be able to withstand abrasion and rubbing. The DTY or FDY can then be knitted, woven and dyed to make a wide range of fabric applications.
